Update 1: Customer service was FANTASTIC! Sent a replacement an hour after I had emailed! Will update upon receipt of the new screen!

 

I am a day late in announcing this but…

BDTopia IS OFFICIALLY OPEN!

I found some humor to the actual fact my little brother’s birthday is also on the 7th. Makes it easier to remember BDTopia’s official opening day birthday. [:

Now, for the tears part.

Why was the energetic idea person of BDTopia crying?

Well I will tell you! *Pats chair*

Last year late summer my *New* laptop had sustained some damage via gravity. The screen ended up damaged to where I could not see anything other than ugly spiderweb cracks all over. Flipping it upside down I removed the battery and put it away until a new screen could be acquired.

I was finally able to order a screen, yay! Two days Prime shipping and the screen was gloriously more inexpensive this time than when I had initially searched for a replacement. (Which yes, because I try to save money where I can. But I do believe in you get what you pay for.)

So today! I get the box! Yay! Yay! But this happened.:

 

Husband = Amazing man that puts up with my insanity aka AMTPUWMI.

AMTPUWMI: Hey Midget, your screen came in. *Hands over box*

Me: YES YES YES!*happy dance*

AMTPUWMI: Hey, just so you know, there’s a crease on the top of the box.

Me: *Pause to stare at box, eyes watering in a mix of fear and hope*

Me: *takes box and proceeds to fiddle with all things technical while directing smallest nerdling to stand back while mommy operates on her laptop.*

Me: *connects screen and turns on laptop*

What I see is:

THIS TRAVESTY!!!! *THROWS CHAIRS AND TABLES OUT THE WINDOWS AND SMASHES SMALL LEGO VILLAGE IN WORK BOOTS*

AMTPUWMI: Well, that sucks. *Chuckles cause he knows my insanity is having a complete meltdown in my head*

Me: *tears up*

AMTPUWMI: Go ahead and get all of the info and email them.

Me: Okay T_T <- Sad face

So, I take photos, and email the seller back immediately, trying to not lose my shit over this. I mean come on I’ve been waiting almost a year for this fix dang it. (Granted more things could be wrong with said computer which also terrifies me. But I can’t figure THAT out until I get the screen fixed. Know what I’m sayin’?)

Gloriously! The customer service persons got back to me quickly, which they asked for more photos, and asked about a refund/replacement.

Duh. Replacement! I’m not stupid here!!!  (If course that’s unprofessional as all get out. so I said replacement, and tried to swallow a Please because I felt it sounded like I was 2.)

Still have yet to hear back. But I have to hang onto the box and all packaging and parts just in case Brown (UPS) wants to investigate.

Since AMTPUWMI has been in the trucking industry for over 10 years, working for UPS, Advanced auto, FedEx, and now Amazon he’s familiar with the (HORRIBLY DISRESPECTFUL PARCEL HANDLING OF BOOKS, different story fill in on another post.)  handling of packages when the trucks are being loaded.It is not impossible at all that the clearly placed in a NOTICEABLE PART OF THE @#$%^&* BOX, was smushed by something quite heavy.

Anyway. *Deep Breath*

Hopefully I shall receive a new screen (undamaged) and be able to step forward with the next part of problem solving the laptop.
